I. Contest Rules Photography

1. Categories
Amateur photographers  (A1 children, A2 adolescents, A3 adults)
Professional photographers (B1 photographers in training, B2 professional photographers)

2. Disciplines
Digital photography and mobile phone photography

3. Subjects
I.1. Light and shadow create harmony and/or violence – image motifs against violence
I.2. Captured and/or staged anti-violence scenes
(in public places, streets, at schools or somewhere else)
I.3. Conflict resolution with humour

4. Form
At least 3 single images
a picture story or photo article on 5 images and/or
a picture story or photo article on up to 10 images
Coloured or black-and-white

5. Entry Conditions

  • The (pieces of) work are uploaded by the entrant to the electronic image database;
  • Every image or every picture story/photo article bears a detailed caption regarding the subject, for which a written translation in English and/or German is to be submitted;
  • Please use the highest available resolution of your equipment (and the JPG-format);
  • For participating in a photo exhibition as an award winner, a file size of 3 - 5 MB is required (corresponding to image sizes of approx. 40x60 cm and approx. 1500 x 1000 pixels); for printing 300 dpi - or better: 600 dpi - are required;
  • In the discipline of mobile phone photography 72 dpi are sufficient;
  • If an entrant is awarded a prize, he/she will make his/her CV available;
  • Any recourse to courts of law is excluded.

This deadline has been extended to 7 October 2010.

It is recommended to upload the (pieces of) work four days before the entry deadline at the latest and to send the application form by post in a timely manner.
